When BibRave approached Denver Projection Mapping to help bring Nuun Hydration’s “Happy Nuun Year” campaign to life, the goal was to create a memorable New Year’s Eve-style launch experience in Denver during the middle of summer.

The event was designed as the kickoff for Nuun’s summer-long campaign celebrating movement, new rituals, and hydration. With only a few weeks to plan and prepare, our team worked closely with BibRave to develop a projection experience that would transform the event space into an immersive environment built around the Nuun brand.

From an Outdoor Concept to an Immersive Indoor Experience

The original concept was to project onto the exterior of the building. However, because the event took place in the middle of summer, the amount of daylight made outdoor projection impractical for the desired daytime experience.

We recommended moving the projection experience indoors at Truss House in Denver’s RiNo Art District, where we could control the environment and create a much more immersive experience.

That change allowed us to turn the entire room into the canvas.

We projected across three of the main interior walls, creating a continuous visual environment around the event. We also provided architectural uplighting throughout the room to complement the projection and help create a cohesive atmosphere.

A Colorado-Inspired Visual Experience

For the launch, we created a giant “Happy Nuun Year” countdown as the centerpiece of the event.

The visual experience also incorporated Colorado-inspired imagery, including the Rocky Mountains, iconic 14ers, and famous Colorado peaks. These environments helped connect the Nuun brand activation to its Denver setting while giving attendees a distinctly Colorado experience.

Our team created the countdown content and handled file preparation for the client-provided video assets, ensuring everything was properly formatted and ready for the projection system.

Three 12K Projectors Transform the Room

To create the immersive environment, Denver Projection Mapping deployed three 12,000-lumen Panasonic projectors across the space.

The projections were mapped across the three walls and synchronized through Resolume, allowing us to operate the visual experience as a cohesive system throughout the event.

Because the event took place during the day in the middle of summer, ambient light presented an additional technical challenge. The large windows at Truss House allowed significant daylight into the room, which could have reduced the impact of the projection.

We worked with the event team to cover the windows and control the ambient light, allowing the projected imagery to remain bright and impactful despite the daytime conditions.

Projection Mapping, Content & Technical Production

Denver Projection Mapping provided the complete projection experience, including:

  • Projection system design
  • Three 12K-lumen Panasonic projectors
  • Projection mapping across three walls
  • Resolume playback and live operation
  • Creative content production
  • Nuun Year countdown animation
  • Client video file preparation
  • Signal distribution and technical infrastructure
  • On-site installation and operation
  • Room uplighting
  • Event-day technical support

This allowed BibRave to work with one team for both the creative and technical sides of the projection experience.

Helping Brands Think Beyond Traditional Event Screens

One of the most rewarding parts of this project was working with a client who was new to projection mapping.

BibRave came to us with a creative vision and an initial idea for an exterior projection. We were able to explain the technical limitations of outdoor projection during the summer and recommend an approach that would produce a stronger experience for their guests.

Moving the activation indoors ultimately allowed us to do more than simply put branding on a wall. We created an immersive room where the architecture itself became part of the Nuun Year experience.

The BibRave team was blown away by the finished visuals and the atmosphere they created throughout the event.

An Immersive Brand Activation in Denver

Brand activations are an opportunity to create experiences that audiences remember long after the event is over. Projection mapping can transform an otherwise ordinary event space into an environment completely tailored to a campaign, product, or brand.

For Nuun Hydration’s Denver launch, the combination of immersive projection mapping, custom creative content, Colorado-inspired visuals, and architectural lighting transformed Truss House into a unique environment for the campaign launch.

Denver Projection Mapping provides projection mapping and immersive visual experiences for brand activations, experiential marketing campaigns, corporate events, product launches, and live events in Denver and throughout Colorado.
